Nothing will stop me!

So this summer was a first for me in more ways than one. At the end of July, whilst in a mall rushing to get a takeaway for supper, I slipped on some water on the marble floor and crashed to the ground in a very undignified manner and fractured my wrist as a consequence.

Being a natural left hander, it was of course that hand that I used to save me (L) : result: 4 weeks in a cast.

Naturally, as an artist who likes colours, I chose a cast that I felt reflected both my personality and artistic bent, a particularly vibrant shade of purple!

Miffed but undeterred, I decided to employ the “scissor and file” modification method and fashion my cast in a way that allowed my fingers some movement so that the painting could proceed. It was a success and work continued (if slowly):
